Part of the magic of the holidays is the way they never fail to bring out the worst in us. Whether it’s the stress of the spending time with extended family, or spending money we don’t really have on presents, or living under the tyranny of societally enforced good cheer, or hearing Mariah warble “All I Want for Christmas” twenty times a day, it can all be a bit much to take. There’s nothing more cathartic than sharing your innermost grumpy holiday thoughts with fellow grinches, and over the years animator Eoin Duffy has proven himself a master of the dark side of the holidays. For the past couple of Decembers, he’s delighted us with rather dark but surprisingly adorable animations, and this year he’s back with the funniest one yet. Watch “Happy Holidays” below to see Santa Claus as a sad, deluded, and possibly drunk old man who, for some tragic reason, believes he can fly:
