A Farting Corpse Love Story: TCP Meets the Daniels

Of Swiss Army Man, which makes its nationwide debut this Friday, July 1, esteemed critics at RogerEbert.com write, “The Daniels have made a film that’s at once a labor of love and a work of sheer arrogant nerve, one that is as likely to be described as a classic, an ambitious misfire, and one of the worst films ever made by any three people who see it together. How many movies can you say that about?” Known colloquially as the “farting corpse movie,” the wildly daring debut film from writer/director duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, together known as the Daniels, stars Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe as castaways forging an unlikely friendship across all boundaries of taste and mortality.

In a new video, The Creators Project’s Emerson Rosenthal sits down with the Daniels to talk about pungent themes, innovation in music videos (among others, Daniels are responsible for DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s seminal “Turn Down for What,” and Battles’ hellish “My Machines”), and to wanting to make their moms cry.
