These two powerful senators are on a bipartisan quest to terrify you

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse is a powerful Democrat. Senator Lindsey Graham is a powerful Republican. Together, they’re on a bipartisan quest to scare the shit out of you.

The unlikely pair is trying to raise awareness about the threat of cyberterror, which they say the United States is woefully unprepared for. Power grids, dams, and elections are all too open to attack, the men say.

So they’re pushing a bipartisan bill to boost spending and focus on cyberdefense. But it will have to clear the House and pass under the pen of a president who doesn’t seem all that interested in talking about election hacking.

VICE News talked to both senators about how they hope to scare America.
