Want An Adjustable Pixel Wall In Your Home?

If staring at pixels all day on a computer (and perhaps all night via a video game console or mobile device) wasn’t enough, you can take the aesthetic of the digital world and plaster it on your wall, too. Courtesy of Russian designer Amirkhan Abdurakhmanov or Amirko as he’s known on Behance. But the wall (which at the moment is just an idea), called Change It!, is more than that, it’s a customizable home installation where you can display all sorts of patterns from rainbows to black and white, to Super Mario or any 8-bit object or character your geek heart desires.

It works by using a set of prisms, presumably with different colours on each side, attached to a rod that runs through the middle so you can swivel them as you wish.

While the concept looks pretty awesome, the execution may be otherwise. We’re not sure how you’d install this in a house or flat—you’d have to put it in front on an existing wall and secure it, which all sounds expensive. Ah well, we can but dream. And we might be dreaming for a long time as on his Behance page Amirko says the Change It! wall will be in production soon, but this was back in April 2010.
