As I wrote yesterday, I am deep into Lego Worlds right now, and enjoying it so very much, even when I need to finish bigger games (Hi, Breath of the Wild, game I’m 180+ hours into and still need to beat) and start games I think I’ll like (Tacoma!). It’s just such a warm, colorful, true-to-the-spirit recreation of how much fun it is to play with Lego blocks, to create entire worlds and bring them to life, to enjoy the simple pleasure of making something cool.
I’ve gotten very into other builder games in my life—the LittleBigPlanet games chief among them, I actually taught an entire class using that as a main tool—and, of course, Super Mario Maker. I’ve still never played Minecraft, though, a game I suspect I’d have been obsessed with if it was around when I was a younger Lego Maniac.
