If you’ve always dreamed of racing one of the TRON light cycles but didn’t fancy undertaking gladiatorial battles with rogue computer programs under the eye-squinting neon glow of The Grid, then you’ll have to make do with Expresso Design‘s new augmented reality game. To play, you’ll need to print out a marker to hold up to your webcam, which will allow you to see a 3D rider on your screen, hold two markers up and you’ll be able to race the light cycles.
It’s essentially another app promoting the not-under-promoted film, that’s now been and gone, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try out the free online demo and show it off to anyone in the vicinity—the only catch is the website’s in Italian because Expresso Design are an Italian company. Don’t let it put you off though. Print out the card from here, then go to their website and click “Realta Aumentata”. The rest is pretty easy to figure out without resorting to Google Translate.
