Creators Remix Roundup Week 17

Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn’t keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

Kelly Rowland ft. Lil Wayne: “Motivation” (Diplo remix)

Videos by VICE

For Kelly Rowland’s upcoming third solo album, she teams up again with rapper Lil Wayne on “Motivation.” The original has been out for about a week now, but Diplo’s remix just surfaced within the past few days. He gives the slow R&B jam an electronic, dance-floor-ready makeover and, as is typically the case when Diplo is involved, you can bet that it gets bass-heavy. The whompy bass complements Lil Wayne’s pace nicely, while also adding a little edge to Rowland’s poppy vocals. Though no tracks have surfaced regarding the rumored Beyonce/Diplo/Sleighbells collaboration, it seems as though Diplo’s making the rounds with the former members of Destiny’s Child.

Poediction: “U.R. Everything” (Trevor Jackson remix)

According to their MySpace, new Danish disco house group Poediction’s first single “Kikiryconga” is already known by “too many partypeople.” UK-based visual artist and DJ Trevor Jackson has taken them under his wing, remixing their new track, injecting it with his techno-y, out-of-this-world vibe. Look for Poediction’s debut LP out soon.

Mixhell: “Antigalactic” (Mumbai Science remix)

Belgian techno duo Mumbai Science’s name is pretty self-explanatory, drawing from their shared passion for both Indian culture and science (their Twitter bio even includes “scientists” along with DJs and producers). Aside from their interesting origins, they brighten up Mixhell’s “Antigalactic” track, departing from the Brazilian husband and wife team’s notoriously dark and metal-influenced tunes.
