ThisisDA: “Lifers”

Oh, how rap has gone full circle and graciously plonked itself right back in the heady days of boom-bap. ThisisDA, a young buck at just 18 years old, was born in London before upping sticks to Bristol. There are sniffs of Lupe Fiasco and Dizzee in equal measure on “Lifers”, the lead single from his debut album Super Arkane. It’s set to arrive at some point this year and the whole project was produced by a Mancunian beatsmith called Mankub.

ThisisDA also appears in Alternative tent at the Best of BBC Introducing in the West line-up at Brisfest this Saturday night. Find the full line up here.
