CMJ for music fans is a lot like Black Friday for holiday shoppers. You go in with wide-eyed naïvité like “this time, it’ll be different. This time, I’m organized. I know what I want. I have a plan.” Quickly, you’re lost in a sea of ruthless, blood-thirsty yuppies, reduced to the most primative of human behavior.
Someone bites you or steps on your neck. Probably both. As you drop to the floor, you resign yourself to the fact that this is it; you will never make it out of here. You assume the fetal position and try to remember the last time you told your parents you loved them as you’re trampled by an endless barrage of (disturbingly spotless) converse high tops as your vision fades to black…
