Dilfenio Romero’s passion for donkeys stems from his childhood. After growing up around them in the countryside, he set up Burrolandia, a donkey refuge that opened to the public 15 years ago. Burrolandia – which literally translates to “Donkeyland” – provides a home for rescued, abandoned, and retired donkeys. All of them are cute, cuddly, and crazy about carrots. Of all the diferent breeds, our favorite is the zamorano-leonés, which looks a bit like a Shetland pony and has great bangs.
