Having already released three killer cuts on his own OTB Records since late last year, along with two additional slabs by UK producer Aggborough, Belgian producer One Track Brain is back with a new single, and it continues on the same course of restless techno that got our attention to begin with. “Kitten Play” claws at speakers with constantly changing 16th-note sounds that scratch and scream over relentless tribal toms, while “Dust Devil” sucks speakers inward with bottomless 808 bass kick and pitter-pattering percussion that builds to surprisingly melodramatic synth vibes. The end impression is far more uplifting than one would expect from another faceless techno producer churning out minimally designed vinyl championed by DJs like Slam, Marcel Dettman, and Dubfire.
We’ll certainly give it our own co-sign: here’s the full two-sider for your daily techno fix. The hand-stamped vinyl hits today via OTB Records.
