You can’t help but love what you love, even if that thing will eventually destroy everything (looking at you, McDonald’s poutine). Boston artist Jaalid dropped his “Reality” video, featuring emcee Norman Perry. Directed by Trevor Browning and produced by King Bnjmn, “Reality” depicts love that’s too good to be true through Jaalid’s infectious R&B style. “This state of mind, it feels like fantasy,” he sings.
“This song is about loving someone even though all the signs suggest you shouldn’t,” Jaalid wrote to Noisey, “Wanting to turn your mind’s interpretation of what could be into reality. I feel like when you get caught in this cycle it’s hard to let go or differentiate the truth from fantasy. I’ve experienced many relationships like this and use my music to vent/escape.” Watch the video below.
