Listen to Speedy Ortiz’s New Single “In My Way”

After a brief break and a Sadie Dupuis solo record in 2016, Speedy Ortiz returned this morning with a new single. “In My Way” is a part of the anti-Trump Our First 100 Days, a brilliant series that’s already given us tracks from Angel Olsen, PWR BTTM, Meat Wave, and Toro Y Moi. “In My Way” faithfully follows the Speedy Ortiz mantra, leading with its poppiness and then flipping it at a moment’s notice. Dupuis lets her falsetto run, breathing a little air into the track when it gets claustrophobic. It’s a welcome return from a band we love.
