Monkey Shoulder Whisky Are Throwing a Party

I’ve always loved whisky – it makes me feel cultured and kind of like I’m a swing musician in the 30s, or like my job is to oversee the burgeoning nightclub scene in 1950s Chicago, which is something I just can’t quite achieve with a pint. A lot of people, however, seem to trip out over whisky, citing that stuffy reputation it can sometimes have as a turn off.

What those people clearly fail to realise is that reputation isn’t everything. I always heard that Jeremy Paxman was horrible, for example, but when I met him once he couldn’t have been nicer. There are people around doing an amazing job of dislodging that whisky reputation, though, like the people behind Monkey Shoulder triple malt Scotch, which is changing the way people think about whisky with its cocktail-friendly, mellow vanilla flavour.

Besides releasing the drink itself, Monkey Shoulder are going one step further by holding The Monkey Shoulder Social Club, a one-off event on Thursday 6th December bringing together whisky virgins and whisky lovers for an evening of drinks created by London’s finest bartenders, gourmet street food, classic films shown in a dedicated movie room, DJ sets and a cocktail boot camp, teaching guests expert tips on how to turn their amateur Old Fashioned into something worthy of history’s best speakeasies.
