Remember when we did that huge band search last year called Levi’s Sounds? From more than 300 great and not-so-great acts, a jury narrowed it down to three finalists who then played at our third anniversary party. As well as getting to play in front of a great crowd (i.e. you!), the grand prize was a record deal with Universal/Nightliner, getting their record produced by Knut Schreiner from Turbonegro, and PR via Levi’s worth a couple of million.

The winning band was LaPuma. They’re done hiding…

in the studio and can’t wait to get it out there. To celebrate their victory they’re doing a
release tour starting in Stockholm at Mosebacke tonight.

Around 4 PM Annika Forsberg (musikbyrån) will be behind the decks and Sneezing Habits will play live in-store. The guys (or should we say “rockstars”) from LaPuma will be hanging out in shop as well, if you want to ask them questions.

We’ve been so busy since last year’s search that we forgot to keep checking the Levi’s Sounds website for a minute. When we checked back it turns out the site has been living a life of its own and about 200 new bands have entered their details, even though we haven’t said a word about a new contest or anything.
