They say that if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. I guess that whoever named these wonderfully sweet, chewy, chocolaty Cocoa-Almond Uglies wasn’t too concerned with that adage.
But just because their name’s a little weird doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give these lovely cookies a chance. They’re gluten-free (ding, ding, ding!) and are made with almond flour, cocoa powder, and ground cinnamon. Egg whites give them a light, meringue-like texture, and a touch of salt, as always, adds that je ne sais quoi factor. Try adding ground ginger or crystallized ginger for a different take on this irresistible recipe.
