In a tightly played game, Texas took a 17-13 lead over UCLA with a touchdown to John Harris with just over five minutes left to play and looked to be in control after UCLA fumbled it away on the ensuing possession. Texas took scooped up the loose ball, but they decided to get conservative and punted it right back. A penalty before the punt pushed Texas back to their own 20, giving Ishmael Adams more room to make some moves on the return. He got even more room to maneuver after a vicious block and returned it all the way to the Texas 33 yard line. On the very next play, UCLA’s backup quarterback Jerry Neuheisel won the game.
Before we get into the winning play, let’s take another look at that block, yes?

Now, to the game-winning play. UCLA’s starting quarterback Brett Hundley left the game with an elbow injury in the first quarter and career backup (and son to Rick) Jerry Neuheisel came in and kept the Bruins afloat all night and finally won it in dramatic fashion. With great field position after Adams’s punt return, UCLA went for the home run and Neuheisel found Jordan Payton all alone running down the sideline on a great pump fake and double move. Texas could not counter and Neuheisel’s teammates carried him off the field on their shoulders.

That is pretty fucking awesome.
