Elizabeth Guzman isn’t rich. She’s an immigrant from Peru. But she beat an eight-term incumbent Republican the first time she was ever on the ballot and become one of the first two Latino women ever elected to the state’s House of Delegates.
On Tuesday, she’s going to give one of two official Democratic Party responses to President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address. Hers is in Spanish.
