A still unknown ransomware group hacked the controversial TV giant Sinclair, causing disruptions at several channels across the United States.
Lagging behind competitors, the right-wing news network offered out-of-work sports broadcast technicians piddly loans.
"This is not the Soviet Union: Americans deserve a meaningful choice in their local news," a lawmaker said of the proposed Sinclair-Tribune merger.
Sinclair Broadcast Group will soon be able to reach 72 percent of all American households.
