Dear Vice,
Thanks for using my pic in the Dos & Don’ts last week. It was taken in a dancehall in Houston where my girlfriend’s grandmother hangs out. It’s really weird because it’s this old-school country bar smack in the middle of the Vietnamese/Mexican ghetto. I can’t remember how we ended up there, but the David Lynch vibe was all over the place that night–as you can see even the Cowboy was there hanging with Frank Booth. I started to freak out a little earlier when reading the caption, cause I remembered that my girlfriend was trying to get the band to play her grandma’s favorite song, “Blue Velvet.” I calmed down when she reminded me it was actually “Black Velvet.”
