Vibrant pop art animations pay homage to legendary electronic music pioneer Giorgio Moroder in a new short film by Australian multi-disciplinary designer and artist Nicolo Bianchino. Giorgio is a creative visual interpretation of a snippet of audio from Moroder’s song on Daft Punk’s album Random Access Memories, in which in the 77-year-old DJ and record producer narrates his life’s story and how he discovered the “sound of the future” in the electronic synthesizer.
Dreamy Daft Punk chord changes play in the background while Moroder talks about growing up in a little town in Italy, his dreams of one day becoming a musician, and sleeping in his car between sets at nightclubs around Germany. The different stages of his life are brilliantly illustrated through Bianchino’s flat and radiant imagery and his idyllic minimalist animation style that closely mirrors the work Nerdo used in BEER by Charles Bukowski.
