On Saturday 5boro is throwing a contest called the Battle Under the Bridge. The bridge in question is the Manhattan, and the battle will take place at the LES skatepark, the one with the slippery ground and all the crusty pigeon shit.

This contest is designed to make the five boroughs hate each other. There will be five teams, one from each borough, pitted against each other. Each team will skate for five minutes on all those brightly colored rails and boxes and stuff, before one team is crowned the King of New York and everyone else has to grip their boards and adjust their trucks whenever the winning team asks for one year. Just kidding, they get named the All City Champs and I’m not sure what they win. The other thing would be pretty cool though, right?
