Browsing Records Like It Was 1995

It’s not uncommon to hear people, usually of a certain age, lamenting the disappearance of the independent record store, a fairly ubiquitous sight way back when searching through fields of vinyl was the norm and “digital” was something your wristwatch might be. Afternoons were spent idly browsing record bins, the tangibility of it all somehow enriching lives more than an mp3 ever could. Today the record store has become an endangered species, nearly extinct, prompting a whole international day, Record Store Day, to be dedicated to its fading honor.

To coincide with this and to salvage the act of discovery The Barbarian Group launched a website, LP Roulette, that lets you virtually skim through albums with the click of a mouse, allowing you to make your purchasing choices based on the album artwork—so ironically you won’t need to visit that record store any more. Our only complaint is that Michael Bublé seems to crop up far too often.
