We never knew we’d see the day our charming, artisanal mixologists would be thrust into obsolescence, but here we are: designed by Carlo Ratti Associati with MIT, Coca-Cola, and Bacardi, the Makr Shakr is the robotic bartender we’ve been waiting for.
A uniquely crafted machine modeled after Roberto Bolle, the principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, the Makr Shakr features several state-of-the-art components, including an app that can monitor your blood-alcohol level. What’s truly exceptional about the Makr Shakr, though, is its encyclopedic knowledge of cocktails: it can apparently mix one googol (1 followed by 100 zeroes) different drink combinations, with mechanically perfect measurements.

The Makr Shakr originally debuted back in 2013 at Google I/O in San Francisco, but it will be available for rent at your next party starting this September. Get a look behind the design of the bartenderbot below.
