Hyped: The Week in Links 9/2

We’ve been giving some love to immersive theatdf mavens Punchdrunk this week, we spoke with Artistic Director Felix Barrett about their New York show Sleep No More, and then were completely terrified at a London event they hosted, which used a video game as the premise for a horror-survival live show. We rounded up some of the best fan-made videos you’ve ever seen, and took a look at the career of the brilliant Georges Méliès, the man Michael Bay owes a lot to. And finally, we spoke with a 16-year-old high schooler who’s created her own digital music label.

· Time: What’s it all about? It may be on your side, it may tick away the moments that make up a dull day—whatever it does, it’s a concept that surrounds us but still manages to evade our understanding. Better go check out Discover magazine’s “10 Things Everyone Should Know About Time.”

· The enigma of time is something that Billy Pilgrim, protagonist of Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five, knows only too well. Hear the author talk about the shapes of stories, demonstrating their “simplicity” by using some chalk and a board.

· In the 1950s and 1960s, guys were total jerks when it came to complimenting their wives’ coffee.

· Undeadly: There was a new Dead Island trailer released this week, with plenty of zombie blood and decapitations to keep the bloodthirsty satisfied.

· Kotaku looked back at the long gone days of shopping for video games through catalogues. Those analog fools. Although we’d love to get our hands on a pair of those badass 3D glasses above.
