Khalid Robinson—a 19-year-old R&B phenom, man of infinite potential, and surprising Marshmello collaborator—is touring the US right now behind his brilliant debut LP, American Teen. Instead of engaging in anything nefarious on the road, he’s been eating bugs, getting nautical, and recording the occasional acoustic song with his guitarist. Last night, he recorded an acoustic version of SZA’s CTRL song, “Love Galore.” It was perfect: his vocals are effortless, he’s enjoying himself, and he’s wearing a shirt that says “DON’T BE A DICK” on it. This guy will make you smile for a minute, even when the world is burning.
