For many, Mt Eden’s (formally Mt. Eden Dubstep) seminal 2009 rework of “Sierra Leone” (which was actually a remix of Freshlyground’s “I’d Like“) was pivotal in their introduction to a new wave of electronic music, where loud, melodic bass reigned supreme, and swiftly collided with popular music on an array of viral remixes.
Now in 2015, with a newly signed deal with Ultra Records in the books, the New Zealand-via-Brooklyn pair of Jesse Cooper and Harley Rayner have evoled their sound well for current times, and their MIXED BY proves the point to the last beat. While they still present their dramatic brand in powerful ebbs and flows, they also choose to feature more trap-centric sounds, as well as unleash a number of popular remixes of the moment.

With an exciting amount of unreleased tracks, and a couple cool covers (The Pixies anyone?), today’s mix shows the guys are still climbing the everlasting heights of wobble mountain, and there’s no slowing down in sight.
Check out a preview of Mt. Eden’s new single “Distance Kills” out Feb. 3rd on Ultra.
