What Is Techno Anyways?

Where else would we turn but Detroit to probe the many meanings of techno? Considered to be techno mecca by many, the D is where everything started 30 years ago (at least according to the story told on Wikipedia). But that’s the official version. History is messy and everyone’s got their own take on the origin story… DJs and fans speculate on what they think the meaning of techno is in this video shot at the 2013 Movement Festival in Detroit, with cameos from Carl Craig, Ben Klock, Heidi, Ellen Allien, George Fitzgerald, Soul Clap, and many more, plus a pink unicorn and a guy who thinks lizards are craaaaazay.
