MIXED BY Cassius Select

Lavurn Lee is a master of the minor detail. He has many monikers, including Guerre and Black Vanilla, and all his work is known for its evocative melodies and textures. Cassius Select is the outlet for Lavurn's techno interests, but draws upon a rich spectrum of electronic styles. Last year the debut Cassis Select EP One was released, a blend of swinging garage beats, cavernous warehouse ambience and advanced sound design. Since then Cassius Select has kept busy performing alongside international and local peers such as Four Tet, Jamie xx, and HTRK, also releasing several remixes and singles.

Cassius Select is featuring on the Red Bull Music Academy stage at Splendour In The Grass this year. It's a stellar roster of pioneering artists, now including Nicolas Jaar and Africa Hitech. THUMP will be hosting a series of mixes from the lineup in the weeks ahead, and Cassius Select has delivered the first instalment. It's a compelling, vivid mix of modern and classic moments.
