NORTHMIX: Demuir

Toronto’s Demuir has received love from legendary DJs such as Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, and DJ Sneak for his soulful and sexy style of Chicago/jackin’ house, and after one listen to his Northmix it’s easy to see why.

His unique and diverse style of music blends together elements of funky house, techno, tech house, and even hip-hop and samba into a cornucopia of delectable and digestible dance music. Demuir seems poised to make a splash in 2015 with his upcoming three-track Past To Future EP. Two cuts off the release, the relentless spoken word number, “Whatchuwhoooooant?!,” and “Drama Untied,” a bouncy, vocal-driven groove, can be found on the mix. The third and final track, “The Cheerleader,” is a bass-heavy dose of funk worth waiting for.
