The last time we featured Canadian ambient composers Northumbria, we presented the duo’s newest album, Helluland, in full. Since then, the album itself been released (out March 31 via Swedish dark ambient label Cryo Chamber), and they’ve teamed up with Montreal video artist Dominic F. Marceau to create a breathtaking video for its title track. The clip for “Helluland” manipulates semi-animated sepia-toned Viking imagery to evoke the gentle ebb and flow of the song’s progression.

Marceau is known for his work creating videos for Theologian and Steel Hool Prosthesis, as well, but has truly outdone himself here. The final result is hypnotic and enthralling in its beauty, just like Northumbria’s music.
