Blessing Force In Full Effect: Trophy Wife Remixes Chad Valley

I didn’t know anything about Blessing Force until I got into Hugo Manuel’s solo project Chad Valley. Blessing Force is a loose collective of friends, writers, musicians, and artists living in and around Oxford, a small country town in South East England. The collective is based entirely on innovative collaboration between disparate and dissimilar artists.

Today Trophy Wife, one of BF’s prime exports, released this remix of Chad Valley’s recent single “Now That I’m Real (How Does It Feel?).” So often remixes smack of impersonal selfishness, but Trophy Wife is very giving with their buoyant re-imagining. Drummer Kit Montieth has been friends with Hugo since high school, when they were in a band together called the Modern.

The result is an airy summer banger, the sort of thing you’d want to hear after a late-afternoon sunshower subsides. Not to sound precious or anything.
