We thought Japan’s capital city couldn’t get any more fun-sized than in darwinfish105′s toy-like, tilt shifted Tiny Tokyo videos, but in Soratama: TOKYO in the Glass Sphere, the supercity gets even smaller. The short film distorts iconic Tokyo locations like Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Station through a snowglobe-like Soratama sphere lens, displaying the wintry comings and goings of Tokyoites in a completely different scale than its tilt-shifted predecessor. Glowing holiday lights and occasional flurries complete the snowglobe illusion phenomenally, resulting in a festive timelapse souvenir ideal for homesick ex-pats or yearning Japanophiles.
