This past weekend, #freeTravisScott became a ubiquitous hashtag within online rap circles when the rapper was arrested for inciting a riot during a performance in Arkansas. Now with that news blowing over, Scott has fans talking again after unexpectedly releasing three new songs on his Soundcloud last night. “Green and Purple” is a booming trap tune featuring ad libs and a verse from rising Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti. The Murda Beatz-produced “Butterfly Effect” is textbook slurred Scott number, with backing vocals that sounds eerily similar to Migos’ “Slippery.” “A Man,” is the most lively and bouncy of the three. Though there is no sign of these being tied to a full body of work, they’ll definitely do for now. Listen to the tracks below.
