Trapped in the mid-February sludge, summer feels like a long, long time ago. The sunshine days dotting around in shorts, slurping on lukewarm tinnies and lugging on deeply dehydrating zoots all seem transfixed to the distant, unassailable past. So it’s nice to get a reminder that things are going to get better, and it’s doubly nice when that reminder sounds as good as Courts’ new banger “Glass Half Empty.”
The Essex five-piece have been busy lads over the past few months, hoovering up acclaim from, among others, Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and Julie Adenuga. Their tricksy brand of discohop-indie is a perfect primer for the first shoots of spring and summer that might just might be around the corner. Watch the video for “Glass Half Empty” below and get yourself pumped on nostalgia.
