Meet Christine and the Queens. The gamine singer, born Heloise Letissier, is already a star in her native France, but below is the premiere of her first (half) English-sung song "Tilted"—a lithe, perfectly parsed pop track. It's breathy without being cutesy with just a shade of Haim. Her video for "Saint Claude," which dropped in April last year, has clocked up seven million views and just a few weeks back the 26-year-old scooped Female Artist of the Year at the prestigious Victoires de la Musique French Music Awards.

Madonna was so taken by Christine and the vision of directing duo J.A.C.K. (Camille Hirigoyen and Julien Choquart) for the "Saint Claude" video that she snapped them up to helm her "Living For Love" promo. During her Grammys finale when Madge was levitated into the air—well that was a direct nod to both Christine's video and the EP cover of Saint Claude (check out the side-by-side here). P.S. Said video for "Saint Claude" is sadly blocked in the US—sob!—but we're assured it'll drop sometime soon-ish.

Side note: damn she looks fine in a suit. Love a woman in menswear. Listen to the track below, and as a bonus, below that is the lyric video. Normally we don't fuck with lyric videos because they're a pointless tease while we wait for the real deal, but along with Madonna, Lorde, and Mark Ronson, we're so smitten with Christine and we dig her dance moves, so you know, she's the only exception. You're welcome.

Her Saint Claude EP is out via Neon Gold / Because / Atlantic on 4/14. Pre-order here. The English language version of her chart-topping French debut Chaleur Humaine, will follow later this year.

Kim Taylor Bennett will definitely be down the front when Christine and the Queens makes her US live debut at SXSW this month. She's on Twitter.
