PAWS first catapulted their way onto our mainframe when they dropped Cokefloat, their first proper LP on FatCat, waaaay back in October 2012. The album’s appeal is straightforward and to the point, with calculated hooks, saccharine melodies, and crashing drums. Sometimes, less is more.
The trio, comprised of Philip, Joshua, and Matthew, hail from the Highlands of Scotland, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, respectively. Recently, they’ve been tearing up the music scene in Glasgow, playing shows with No Age, Wavves, Happy Birthday, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Black Lips, and Male Bonding.
