We’re Live-tweeting the Athens Riots!

Last weekend, four VICE writers and filmmakers left the air-conditioned comfort of the UK office behind and flew out to Athens ahead of the 48-hour general strike. The problems the Greeks have been having with their dilapidated economy are well known to us, so we knew that things were likely to get pretty heated, pretty quickly.

And guess what, we were right. We’ll be providing some more in-depth coverage of the pitched anarchist-on-cop street battles and society-wide anger as the week progresses, but for now, follow our progress on Twitter.

So far we’ve been tear-gassed, hit with missiles and had our cameras smashed with metal poles. Well, I haven’t. The people who were stupid brave enough to go to a riot in Athens have. Here are some pictures they’ve taken while I’ve been sat eating pizza at my desk. Heads up for Molotovs, guys!
