There was a scary play in last night’s Champions League tilt between Besitkas and Benfica as Alex Grimaldo was dropped cold on a boot from Ricardo Quaresma. In the 79th minute, the Portugese winger aimed for the net, while the Spanish defender jumped to block the point-blank strike. Grimaldo got drilled square in the face and went straight to the pitch as Quaresma rushed over to do what he could.
Grimaldo lay motionless for a moment as players and medical staff came to his aid. He came to shortly thereafter and was somehow allowed to remain in the match, which ended in a 1-1 tie.
