Creators Remix Roundup Week 25

Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn’t keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

Neon Indian: “Psychic Chasms” (Anoraak remix)

Videos by VICE

French new wave musician Frederic Riviere aka Anoraak is in to “laser-guided synth lines and sepia-toned nostalgia trips,” which is why his remix for Neon Indian’s “Psychic Chasms” is so fitting set to footage from 80s romantic adventure film The Blue Lagoon. Anoraak’s version features cleaner synths that ring clear like bells, veering away from the energetic and glitchy pace of the original, embracing a refreshing vibe that washes over us just like waves should.

Moby: “Isolate” (Mixhell remix) VJ Bootleg by Dom Bita

Even though Mixhell’s remix for Moby’s “Isolate” is over a year old we like it because the subtle injection of Mixhell’s generally harsh electronica works well when combined with one of Moby’s more languid tracks. This week Ukrainian VJ collective Dom Bita adopted the track for one of their latest projects. The result brings us into a hazy, futuristic world (no doubt influenced by TRON). If you like what you see, and happen to live in Eastern Europe, look them up to provide the visuals for your live performances.

Étienne de Crécy: “Out Of My Hands” (DJ Mehdi remix)

Legendary French DJ and producer Étienne de Crécy has been making music since 1996, and is considered one of the founding members of the “French Touch” movement. DJ Mehdi puts his spin on the classically composed beat, glamming up the track to make it fit for the attune club kids of today.
