We just couldn’t keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

If you watched our Creator profile piece on Spank Rock, you already know that Boys Noize is producing the hip-hop collective’s long overdue sophomore album out September 27. But perhaps the lyrics in this song, specifically “I need energy,” reveal the reason behind the hiatus. Not that frontman Naeem Juwan has been sitting around twiddling his thumbs. He’s been busy collaborating with artists like Amanda Blank, N.A.S.A, and Mark Ronson, but we think it’s always healthy to channel your creative energy into your own personal projects… even if it can sometimes be hard to do. Sunzoo: “Get Down”Speaking of multi-faceted hip-hop groups, Sunzoo is a new side project from Tiger JK of Drunken Tiger and his wife Tasha Reid that brings in a wide variety of hip-hop artists from around Asia. “Get Down” with some of the most influential pioneers in the Korean Hip-hop scene…. they’ll make you “put your hands up til your armpits itch.”
Nicola Roberts seems to be a quintessential British songstress (or teen icon). Her lyrics allude to Dirty Dancing as she croons “Baby in the corner learning quick…” while monochromatically dressed b-boys do a little voguing in the corner. The effect that watching Roberts and her Topshop-clad backdrop dancers has falls somewhere between watching the badass cast of Skins live up to all our destructive teenage fantasies, mashed with the wholesome and inspiring energy of the kids from Glee… plus the track was produced by Diplo. Do three rights make a right?
