Makeup Artist Paints Mini-Masterpieces on Her Own Eyes

If imitating the masters is the quickest way to learn, Georgina Ryland is on her way to becoming the Vincent van Gogh of eye makeup. Using her own face as a canvas, Ryland’s renditions of van Gogh’s Starry Night and Japanese legend Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa take 45 minutes to an hour to paint, according to a comment on Reddit. She also creates original designs like the pun-filled cat’s eye-liner, a tiny fast food feast, and a stunning galactic vista. Her short making-of videos on Instagram put Ryland squarely in the trend of makeup artist-as-performer that we pointed out last year.

Her art isn’t limited to eyes, but ranges from lips to using full torsos as a canvas. Check out her work in the Instagrams below.
