Murder of journalists in Dominican Republic caught on Facebook Live

Radio journalist Luis Manuel Medina was in mid-broadcast when his Facebook Live stream ended abruptly. Medina was at a Dominican radio station in San Pedro de Macorís when he and another colleague were killed. Gunshots and a woman’s warnings were heard before the feed was cut.

Since rolling out livestream features, social platforms like Twitter and Facebook have struggled to review and remove sensitive content before it can go viral.
