It’s a gross, rainy Friday here in Brooklyn, and even though our spirits are low here at the office, Noisey artists are making moves all over the place. This week some summer festival announcements went up and a few of our favorites made appearances on public radio.
Spikey, synth-driven indie-rockers Future Islands recently, and “quietly,” blew away fans at NPR’s Tiny Desk series. The program invites up and coming groups into the NPR offices to perform at the desk of the one and only Bob Boilen, host of NPT’s All Songs Considered. The band performed “On The Water,” “Ink Well,” and “Walking Through That Door.” [NPR]
Those Darlins were featured on NPR, and critic Robert Christgau took some subtle digs at their early output while repping their new record. [NPR]
Noisey favorite Oberhofer will play the 4Knots Festival, the Village Voice’s newest summer fest. The event will take place at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, NY, on July 16, and will also feature Davilla 666, the Black Angels, and more. [Artist Direct]
In other festival-related news, oddball rave-rapper Tempa T is onboard for Live Fest, the largest indoor music festival in London. Tempz will perform alongside fellow grime standouts Tinchy Strider and N-Dubz, among others. [Taletela]
The Vaccines took a step out of the beer-hall and into far more mystical territory in the video for “All In White.” The video features parties, nudity, fire, floating radios, and other assorted psychedelic ephemera. [Myspace]
