The Hollywood Sign Has Been Altered to Read “Hollyweed”

The People’s Republic of California, a weed-friendly nation state bordering the Western American Territories, enacted a number of extremely chill laws last year. A new statewide minimum wage comes into effect today, January 1, and high school students will now be taught about sexual consent. And if that wasn’t enough, the good people of the Republic can now smoke that good weed without fear of reproach.

To celebrate this, an as-yet-unidentified chiller altered the iconic Hollywood sign last night to read “Hollyweed,” harking back to a similar prank enacted 41 years ago today, January 1, 1976.

Congratulations to the good people of the Republic. And all power to the residents of Hollyweed.
