Ghetto-tech, bassline, and some late-in-the-game turn-up on Wuki's ON DECK debut.
October 20, 2014, 10:05pm

Think of a record label you're into. Wuki's probably released on it. Denver-based Kris Barman AKA Wuki has put out tunes on OWSLA, Main Course, Fool's Gold, Ultra, and and Mad Decent imprint Jeffree's. Recently, the genre-roving producer and DJ has been on that bassline tip – We premiered "That's Right," his collaboration with Jesse Slayter a couple months ago and were all about it.

Now we've got the man ON DECK and it's an impressive debut. The 42 minute mix begins with a distinctly ghetto-tech flair before affairs ramp up in the final stretch with more trapstyle, upfront elements and then the ending is just a clusterfuck of ridiculous shit like George Michael and the Peanuts theme. Heck yes.

What makes Wuki so remarkable is the adventurous manner in which he experiments with genre while keeping the energy up. This mix is a pristine example of that ability.
