Yesterday the Bewitched Hands released a psychedelic new video for their buoyant electro-pop anthem “Sur Le Quai,” directed by Sanghom Kim & Machine Molle. The video’s smooth animation evokes the polygonal vector graphics of Flashback, the SEGA game by fellow Frenchie Paul Cuisset (fun fact: Flashback was the best-selling French video game of all time). In this video, strange humanoid figures run and fly through forestial landscapes, watched by glowing-eyed animals that recall the ghost monkeys of Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives.
